Welcome to the fourth concert of the 2022 Elollinen Concert Series at Talvipuutarha!

The 2022 series is funded by the Sibelius Academy Foundation and by the City of Helsinki.

All concerts are free and open to the public. All concerts begin around 12:15 and last for an hour.

Elina Mustonen, musician and actress

Her Infinite Variety – Women of Shakespeare in Word and Music is a unique solo performance combining texts by William Shakespeare with the music of his contemporaries. Elina Mustonen performs as actress and musician. The dramaturgy and direction are by Johanna Freundlich, Nely Keinänen and Elina Mustonen.

The programme includes monologues from Twelfth Night, Henry V, Romeo and Juliet, The Winter’s Tale, Julius Caesar, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Macbeth, King John, Hamlet, Othello and As You Like It. Music is by Shakespeare’s Elizabethan and Jacobean compatriots William Byrd, John Dowland, Orlando Gibbons and Thomas Morley and will played on the virginal, the most popular keyboard instrument of the period.
