The Musical Anthropologist

On Friday October 18, 2024, I successfully defended my doctoral project at the Sibelius Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki. This marked the completion of 8 years of doctoral research into contemporary Finnish and American music practices. The absence of writing on this platform during 2023 and 2024 was the unfortunate side effect of dissertation-writing.

The dissertation, The Musical Anthropologist, was published in print and online in October 2024. It is available at the Sibelius Academy library, as well as in the Taju online catalogue.

The lectio praecursoria was also published last month in the latest edition of the journal Trio, which can be found online here.

I look forward to continuing research in contemporary music performance practices, and will return to writing on this platform soon!
