LAHTI SYMPHONY OPENING CONCERT
Great drama and entertaining classical music - the opening concert of the season features tunes inspired by opera, theater, myths and movies come to life. Leonard Bernstein compiled the best parts of West Side Story into a swinging orchestral suite, and Erich Wolfgang Korngold, who won two Oscars for his work in film music, returned to the concert stage with a violin concerto which breathes the atmosphere of adventure films. The violinist Randall Goosby, praised for his elegant interpretations, makes his debut as a soloist of Sinfonia Lahti.
